I was self-taught before college and the most useful courses to me as a CS major were compilers, programming languages, and machine learning. Even though it’s rare in practice to implement a compiler, programming language, or machine learning algorithm, all of these are used underneath real systems all the time and it’s definitely been a big advantage understanding how all of these work.Suggest Edits
